Leadership that is authentic, compassionate, and focused
Anointed. Compassionate. Innovative. Passionate.
These are just a few words that come to mind when one attempts to describes Rev. Jerry E. Davis III. Born, raised, and discipled in the African Methodist Episcopal Church, Rev. Davis' upbringing taught him life is best lived serving God by serving others.
Rev. Davis' innovative leadership is evident in the church he planted and in the merged congregations he has forged. In 2006, Rev. Davis founded Way of Life AME Church, a vibrant, community-focused congregation that blended the traditions of African Methodism with 21st century approaches to worship and outreach. On Sunday, March 30, 2014, following the purchase and sale of property on Indianapolis' Fort Benjamin Harrison Historic District, Rev. Davis led Way of Life into a congregational merge with Robinson Community to form Life Community AME Church. Sunday, November 18, 2018, marks the official launch of Crossroads AME Church, one church in two locations and a merge between Life Community and Coppin Chapel AME Church. Beyond the four walls of the church, Rev. Davis' reputation as an innovator and a visionary was cemented when he founded the Emmanual Connection Microlearning Centers, Inc. (ECMLC), a non-profit organization established to transform vacant, abandoned homes into tutoring centers.
The ministries Rev. leads and supports are beneficiaries of his 20 years of experience in the IT industry and B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Rev. Davis' ability to help his followers apply spiritual principles practically in their everyday lives is a product of the training he has received towards his Master of Divinity degree at Payne Theological Seminary.
Rev. Davis' love of preaching and ministry is exceeded only by the love he has for Jesus and the love he has for family. Rev. Davis is happily married to Kiahna Davis, his wife of 19 years. Rev. Jerry and Kiahna Davis are the proud parents of their brilliant and beautiful 7-year old daughter, Chelsea Grayce.
Spirit-filled. Focused. Strategic. Results oriented.
